Inside a Chapel’s Intimacy

Location : Greater Lyon area, France

Photographer : Antoine Boutserin

Description :

This small vaulted room, once a chapel reserved for the maids, has been converted into a bright bathroom that opens out to the garden. The design enhances the beauty of the space and its history, while preserving its original architecture.
As much as possible, the original materials have been retained: the wooden floor, the stone, and the old door all reflect the past and add a charming touch. The room’s gentle curves create a serene atmosphere that promotes relaxation.
The project follows a philosophy of reuse and upcycling. The shower system and the toilet were sourced from Le Bon Coin. The bathroom vanity was crafted from vintage furniture, the shelves are made from repurposed drawers, and old wooden bowling pins have been turned into coat hooks.
